Cambodia Embassy in Korea, Catholic Kwandong Hospital to Provide Free Health Checkups for Cambodian Workers
AKP Phnom Penh, July 28, 2026 -- The Embassy of Cambodia in the Republic of Korea is collaborating with Catholic Kwandong University International St. Mary’s Hospital in Incheon to organise free health checkups for Cambodian workers living and working in Korea.
The initiative was discussed during a meeting last weekend between H.E. Khuon Phon Rattanak, Ambassador of Cambodia to the Republic of Korea, and Dr. Dong-Hyung Go, President of Catholic Kwandong University International St. Mary’s Hospital.
During the meeting, the two sides discussed the possibility of seeking and implementing Official Development Assistance (ODA) projects from the Korean Government to strengthen the capacity of Cambodian doctors and medical students. The proposed cooperation could include scholarships, advanced healthcare training based on Korean standards, and joint Cambodia-Korea medical research projects.
They also discussed strengthening cooperation between the Cambodian Embassy and the hospital through the organisation of free health checkups for Cambodian citizens and communities residing in the Republic of Korea.
In addition, the two sides explored the possibility of drafting a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to establish a framework for continued cooperation in human resource development and other healthcare-related projects.
