The Royal Embassy of Cambodia in Japan and the Cambodia Festival Committee have reaffirmed the Cambodia Festival's role as the Kingdom's flagship cultural event in Japan, highlighting its contribution to strengthening Cambodia-Japan friendship and promoting cultural, tourism and economic exchanges.

In a public clarification issued on Tuesday, the organisers noted that the Cambodia Festival has been held annually at Tokyo's Yoyogi Park since its establishment in 2015. The 10th edition, held on May 3-4 this year, attracted approximately 120,000 visitors, making it the largest Cambodian cultural, trade and tourism event in Japan.

The Cambodia Festival Committee comprises the Royal Embassy of Cambodia in Japan, the Cambodian community and students in Japan, and Japanese friends and supporters of Cambodia. Since its inception, the festival has received strong backing from the Royal Government of Cambodia through several ministries, as well as broad support from Japanese government representatives, lawmakers, diplomats, businesses, academic institutions and cultural organisations.

Over the past decade, the festival has become a key platform for promoting Cambodian culture, tourism, trade, investment and people-to-people exchanges while reinforcing the strategic partnership between Cambodia and Japan.

The embassy and the Cambodia Festival Committee expressed their appreciation to government institutions, partners, sponsors, exhibitors, performers, volunteers, members of the Cambodian community and visitors for their continued support, reaffirming their commitment to further promoting friendship and mutual understanding through future editions of the annual festival.
