KOICA, CAMKAA Review 2026 Achievements, Develop 2027 Work Plan
AKP Phnom Penh, October 6, 2026 --
The Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA) and the Cambodia-Korea Alumni Association (CAMKAA) jointly organised a two-day workshop to review CAMKAA’s work achievements in 2026 and develop a joint work plan for 2027.
The CAMKAA Board Members Workshop, held under the theme “2026 Work Achievements and 2027 Work Plan,” took place from Oct. 5 to 6 at the Cambodia-Korea Rural Development Centre (CKRDC) in Kampong Speu province.
The workshop brought together seven CAMKAA board members and two KOICA representatives to review key activities implemented in 2026, assess progress and challenges, and identify practical activities and priorities for 2027.
The workshop was led by H.E. Im Sour, President of CAMKAA and Deputy Secretary General of the Council for the Development of Cambodia (CDC), together with CAMKAA board members and KOICA representatives.
During the workshop, Ms. Lay Neary presented a monitoring and evaluation report on CAMKAA’s major activities in 2026, including an environmental awareness activity, a digital technology and innovation seminar organised in cooperation with the Institute of Technology of Cambodia (ITC), and the annual Cambodia-Korea Alumni Reunion.
Participants reviewed the achievements and challenges encountered during the implementation of these activities and exchanged recommendations to improve their effectiveness, participation and sustainability.
Looking ahead to 2027, participants held discussions on priority areas, potential joint activities and practical approaches to further strengthen CAMKAA’s role as a bridge between Cambodian and Korean alumni.
In his welcoming remarks, H.E. Im Sour underlined the important role of the alumni network in strengthening bilateral cooperation, fostering cross-sectoral partnerships and contributing to community development.
He noted that the workshop provided an opportunity to review progress, address challenges and set a forward-looking direction for the coming year, particularly as Cambodia and the Republic of Korea approach the 30th anniversary of their diplomatic relations.
KOICA representatives reaffirmed the agency’s continued support for CAMKAA and its members, stressing the importance of alumni applying the knowledge and experiences gained through Korea-related programmes to their professional work, community activities and contributions to Cambodia’s development.
The workshop concluded with the finalisation of the 2027 Joint Work Plan, with KOICA and CAMKAA reaffirming their commitment to strengthening the alumni network, supporting alumni contributions to Cambodia’s development, and further promoting friendship and cooperation between Cambodia and the Republic of Korea.
CAMKAA is a non-political, independent and non-profit organisation founded in 2002 and officially registered with the Ministry of Interior in 2007. With KOICA’s support, it provides a platform for more than 3,370 alumni and government officials from various sectors, including healthcare, education, technology and civil society, while promoting professional networking, knowledge sharing and people-to-people cooperation between Cambodia and the Republic of Korea.
