AKP Phnom Penh, September 22, 2026 --

A total of 140 Russian citizens residing or temporarily staying in Cambodia cast their ballots in the elections of deputies to the State Duma of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation of the ninth convocation, according to a press release from the Embassy of the Russian Federation in Cambodia.

The elections took place from Sept. 18 to 20, 2026, with polling stations established outside Russia to enable Russian citizens abroad to exercise their constitutional right to vote.

In Cambodia, polling station No. 8152 was established at the Embassy of the Russian Federation in Phnom Penh. It was open on Sept. 20 from 8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. local time.

The Russian Embassy said the arrangement enabled Russian citizens thousands of kilometres away from their home country to exercise their right to vote and participate in the political life of Russia.

The district election commission facilitated the necessary conditions for the elections to be conducted in an orderly and accessible manner, while Cambodian authorities provided appropriate assistance to the commission in securing the elections.

The results of the elections will be announced at a later date, the press release added.
