AKP Phnom Penh, September 29, 2026 -- Cambodian Minister of Women's Affairs H.E. Dr. Ing Kantha Phavi held here on Sept. 28 bilateral talks with H.E. Ms. Raylene Siale Tagaloa Liufalani, Ambassador of New Zealand to the Kingdom of Cambodia, to discuss strengthening and expanding bilateral and multilateral cooperation between the two countries.

During the meeting, H.E. Minister expressed her profound gratitude to the Government of New Zealand for warmly welcoming the Cambodian delegation during their study visit to New Zealand on "Gender-Responsive Budgeting" and for sharing valuable experiences regarding the implementation of gender-responsive budgeting across various sectors.

H.E. Dr. Ing Kantha Phavi also spoke highly of the cooperation between the Ministry of Women's Affairs and the New Zealand Government—through The Asia Foundation—on the AMPLIFY project (Amplifying Women’s Peace Actions in ASEAN). AMPLIFY is a five-year regional project (2024–2029) aimed at reducing the impact of conflict on women and promoting women's active participation in peace processes across ASEAN member states.

Furthermore, the Minister thanked the New Zealand Government for consistently providing capacity-building and human resource development scholarships to Cambodian civil servants and students.

For her part, the New Zealand Ambassador reaffirmed a strong commitment to a robust partnership, pledging continued support for Cambodia in human resource development and gender mainstreaming across all sectors.
